About me

Hi, I’m Sunyu Wang, a PhD candidate in Urban Data Science at the Department of Urban Planning and Design, The University of Hong Kong, supervised by Professor Anthony Gar-On Yeh. Before joining HKU, I received my MSc in Spatial Data Science and Visualization from the Bartlett Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA), University College London, and my BSc in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from School of Mathematical Sciences, Xiamen University.

My research interests lie at the intersection of spatial optimization and urban data science:

  • Spatial Optimization: I develop optimization models and algorithms to address a broad range of urban planning and operational problems, with a particular focus on applications in transportation and public health.

  • Urban Data Science: I also use large-scale spatial data to understand urban dynamics and support evidence-based planning and decision-making.

Please feel free to get in touch if you are interested in these topics!
